The Toronto Emergency Medical Services Tree of Life was created to honour the memory of our dedicated and devoted staff who have passed on.

This tree was dedicated at Toronto Ambulance Headquarters on Thursday May 22, 2001. It is a cast bronze replica of a tree that has bronze leaves inscribed with the names and dates of all our employees who have passed away. These names, which include retired staff, represent those that worked for Toronto’s ambulance service after the amalgamation of the various services in 1975.

This memorial is a tribute to the men and women who dedicated their life to an organization that is always there when the cry for help is sounded. It is located in the front lobby of emergency services headquarters and visitors are welcome to view this tree and pay their respects. The names of our fallen comrades are a testimonial to those that came before us and passed the torch so they will not be forgotten.

Their contribution to the public will not be forgotten.

Indicates that the former ambulance staff member was a veteran. Place the mouse over the poppy and a tooltip will indicate in which war the veteran served.

Indicates the ambulance personnel who worked for a Toronto area ambulance service but were not employed after the 1975 amalgamation. Their names do not appear on the Tree of Life located in the lobby of EMS Headquarters.
