Employment Information

In Ontario, to be considered qualified for employment as a paramedic, you must be an Advanced-EMCA, Level I, II or III paramedic, EMCA equivalent, EMCA-pending or a college student anticipating graduating in the next four months. Resumes are held on file for a six month period. If during that six month period a recruitment is held, the applicant will be notified of testing dates.

Employment Opportunities

Toronto EMS always accepts resumes for full-time paramedic positions. Interested applicants should submit their resumes to be considered for a Level I Paramedic position. Resumes are kept on file for a period of six months. When a recruitment process is initiated, all applicants having submitted an application within the previous six months will be notified.

To all applicants: Please be advised that as of 2012, Toronto EMS will be providing our own Recruitment Testing Process. There is no longer a Centralized Paramedic Recruit testing process. Please monitor our website for future recruitment opportunities.

Applicants for paramedic positions must possess an Ontario Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (EMCA) Certificate or be considered pending or equivalent, and a valid Ontario class “F” driver’s license. Paramedic skill levels are described on this page.
