Zoll Celebrates
Toronto’s ePCR

December 14, 2009

Malcolm Bates, Director of Emergency Health Services, Land/Air from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Longer Care, Jonathan Rennert,  President and Ward Hamilton, Vice President of Zoll Medical Corporation and Chief Bruce Farr of Toronto EMS were on hand to celebrate the department success and to acknowledge the contribution of over 60 EMS staff involved in the implementation of Toronto EMS’ ePCR system.

The system recently won a Merit and Diamond award from both the City of Toronto and the Province of Ontario for Innovation Excellence. The awards were formally presented at Showcase Ontario and Toronto Innovation Showcase, but this was the first time the entire group was together to receive group recognition.

Malcolm Bates said, “Epcr is a concrete example of how information technology is vital to refining and improving the way we perform our duties and how a user-friendly, technology based information system can significantly contribute in many ways to advancing the timeliness, expediency and quality of patient care.”
