SUV baby reunion

When her mother Shari went into labour in July 2007, things didn't exactly go as planned. Click for more:
Instead of delivering their fifth child at Mount Sinai, Shari and her husband only made it from their home in Thornhill to Bathurst and Finch. About half an hour after going into labour, Shari was sure that birth was imminent.
They pulled their SUV on to a side street and called 911. Less than two minutes later, 16 station paramedics Jason Benaim and Carole Smith were on scene - and just a few minutes after that, the baby was born in the back of the car. Hide section

“Move Over... Protect Us All” Video Released
The Toronto Police and other emergency services have released an informational video on moving to the side when an emergency vehicle approaches. TEMS-TV reports... Click for more:
Toronto Police, Toronto EMS, Toronto Fire, and the OPP, have joined together to produce a half hour video and several shorter spots, aimed at the general public. This campaign is to remind everyone to pull over for emergency vehicles, and to give emergency services a wide berth while passing them on scenes.

On February 25, 2007, Paramedic Paul Patterson of the Chatham Kent EMS service, died while on duty as a result of a vehicle accident while responding to an emergency call.
Toronto EMS would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of Paul Patterson in this difficult time.
Paramedics from across Canada and parts of the United States converged on Strathroy Friday March 2, 2007 to pay their respects to this dedicated individual who lost his life while attempting to save another. An estimated 1600 people came to honour the memory of Chatham Kent Paramedic Paul Patterson.
